"I usually am quite the planner but found this place after my trip to the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur. My French is terrible but the staff made sure to accommodate me and help me feel welcome. I believe the older lady was the owner and she was just phenomenal, truly loved how she didn’t mind I knew very little French and just did her best to help me. I translated the menu myself using google, which was kinda helpful but then just ordered off of what I thought I knew without being sure. Needless to say that the food was really good. I would definitely come back here and suggest to check it out while in Paris. I spent more here than at most other restaurants but it was my last night in Paris so decided to treat myself, still can say I wasn’t disappointed for 3 courses and 3 glasses of wine at £60."

"Our hotel concierge used to be a chef and he highly recommended this place for its straight forward and quality French cuisine. Our family of 4 all thought this was the best restaurant we tried during our week in Paris. The ambience was cozy and inviting, the service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious. We loved everything we ordered. My 14 year old doesn’t love meat and she’s not normally an adventurous eater. She said the octopus with hummus appetizer was her favorite bite of the evening and she loved the beef dish because it was very tender. I had the cod and it was delightful. I ate every bite! We had the creme brûlée and chocolate cake with ice cream to finish the meal and both were sublime. The lady who served our table was an absolute gem. She was so sweet to our daughters. If I get another chance to return to Paris, this Bistrot will be my first dinner stop!"

"Had one of my favorite meals in Paris at Le Bistrot du Maquis. I wish I could remember our server's name as she was one of our favorites we've ever had (Mary-elle maybe?). We preordered the duck in two services. It's encouraged to call in the request a few days in advance since they have to leave the city to pick up the duck at a farm. The first course was the rare breast of duck served with the sauce, created from pressing the bones and extracting the blood and liquefied organs. It's then thickened with the duck liver and cognac. The second part is the leg and thighs, confit and the roasted with a mustard crust. This is one of the best things I have ever eaten. The duck breast was perfectly cooked and so tender, you could cut it with the end of the fork. And the sauce was truly the perfect compliment. We met chef Letty at the end of the meal and it was a delight talking to him about where they source the duck and learning more about this classic French technique. Wonderful evening and I cannot recommend it enough."

"Had the restaurant already bookmarked based on a youtube channel & a foodblog. It was also recommended by our hotel! What a nice little restaurant, a menu with 6/7 of different options per course and nice wines. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Montmartre area."

"I think this is exactly what French food is about. Fresh seasonal ingredients cooked in a simple way. I really loved it. Most people around me were French and local which is a great sign to me. My veal fricasse had exactly what I would hope it has in end of April - white asparagus, leak, carrot. The dessert was strawberry sabayon, perfect for now, uncooked strawberries complimented by a very delicious sabayon. It was also quite reasonable in price."

"Excellent bistro. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. We were four for lunch. We had the terrine, the duck foie gras ballotine, the duck in two services, the kidneys and the lamb. All excellent. The duck was the best. The service excellent and the chief, Andre Le Letty, very friendly."
